UNITED NATIONS FASHION WEEK AND AWARDS

Over 56 endorsements has come in from as many countries for the second edition of United Nations Fashion Week and Awards, billed for October 2016. The Charity event which is geared toward raising fund for Global Children Education is tagged ‘The Gulf Edition’ because of its venue, Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Already, about 190 designers from more than 100 countries are warming up for the event which is expected to provide fresh opportunities for established and emerging designers and models. “It’s good news for the event and the team who have worked tirelessly to make it a success” Mr. Nwabueze Buchi George, who is the president of the event said. “October might seem far too some people, but it is very close to us and we are doing everything possible to see that we don’t go down on the huge expectation that is piling on our shoulders. “We already have 56 countries endorsing the event and we are working towards more because we are leaving no stone unturned for it” he continued. Buchi George who is leading a group of United Nations Ambassadors is optimistic Dubai will provide every platform that will be needed for a world-class showdown and come October 20, 2016, the city will be a cluster of designers, models and other stake holders of the industry for the event which will be lasting for three days

HON. NWABUEZE, BUCHI GE Born Nwabueze Buchi George on August 27, 1974, he has evolved to become a global entrepreneur and activist who has crested his name on the sand of time with his numerous achievements and honours. Buchi George as he is fondly called, hails Imo State, Nigeria and his unquenchable desire for education saw him bag first, second and third degrees in Political Science, Aviation Management and Law from University of Uyo, Nigeria; Massey College New Zealand and National Open University, Nigeria respectively. His love for fashion saw him create his own fashion label, House of George/ HOG BGEORGE, and he pushed on to be the Executive Producer of Pageant TV, Style TV News and has also founded many other television programmes and pageants which have shaped the pageantry industry in Nigeria and the global stage where he is currently playing. For his love for education of less privileged children especially, Nwabueze Buchi George was in 2012 presented with a United Nations Medal of Honour as Global Children Education Activist, a title that made him an Ambassador of United Nations. He has so far used this role in making great impacts globally as a Global Campaigner of Children Education; Education Activist and Children Education Advocate. With his role as a United Nations Ambassador and a lover of fashion and pageantry, Buchi George combined his experiences to kick off United Nations Fashion Week and Awards UNFW, a fashion programme that supports Global Campaign for Child Education. With endorsement from fifteen nations, the first edition of the event took place in New York City, United States of America in 2015, with the second edition billed for October, 2016 in Dubai, United Arab Emirates. United Nations Fashion Week and Awards is packaged by his GLOBAL organization, Face of the World Organization and managed by other United Nations Ambassadors, drawn from across the world and Buchi George sits as the president of UNFW. The event is targeted at increasing the host nation’s direct foreign investments and tourism, while also providing upcoming and established designers and models with a brand new market, networking opportunities and a platform to expand to more nations. He has also proposed the Commonwealth Fashion Week which is expected to take place in 2018 and 2020 during the Commonwealth Head of State Meeting in London, United Kingdom and Malaysia respectively. About 190 world class designers from more than 120 countries are expected to be at the 2016 and second edition of the United Nations Fashion Week and Awards in Dubai. According to the president of the event and United Nations Ambassador, Mr. Busch George, the event which had its maiden edition in New York City, United States of America, in 2015, will be moving to Dubia,United Arab Emirates by October 2016, after which it will be heading to China in 2017. Mr. Busch George stated that they will be banking on the success of the 2015 edition to put up an event that will leave a crested impact in the memeories of the participants come October 2016. United Nations Fashion Week and Awards [UNFW] celebrates artistry, honoring excellence in fashion and style. It is globally produced and managed by Face of World Organisation, an initiative founded by a team of goodwill and United Nations Ambassadors, with the sole aim of using Fashion as a means for cause campaign. The project also aims at creating awareness on Education for disadvantaged background and less privileged children, hence the theme: ‘Catwalk to Educate a Child’. Proceeds from UNFW dinner, gala, live charity concert, awards and awardees supports, red carpet, donations, lectures and World Fashion Summit, are totally dedicated to Global Children Education. Aside bringing top designers and models from different countries of the world together, Mr. George also added that the event will also provide a huge platform for emerging designers from developing nations especially to meet with others and network. “While we are raising fund for Global Children Education, we are also raising hope for emerging designers from across the world. The established ones will find a brand new market and the emerging ones will walk home with lots of experiences that will help their businesses grow
